French Singer Camélia Jordana Joins BDS Movement, Boycotts Major US Brands Over Gaza Conflict

Since Hamas’ attack on Israel and Israel’s retaliation, French singer and actress Camélia Jordana has taken a stand. She is boycotting brands such as McDonald’s and Coca-Cola as a show of support for Palestine.
Camélia Jordana’s consumption habits have radically changed following Hamas’ deadly attack on Israel on October 7, 2023, and the Israeli army’s bloody retaliation. "I know, I’m really radical. I haven’t eaten McDonald’s since October 7, I haven’t drunk a Coke since October 7," she stated on April 4 during a masterclass on the sidelines of the Reims Polar international crime film festival.
The actress is thus joining the boycott campaign launched by the "Boycott, Divestment, Sanctions" movement against these brands that have branches in Israel, which aims to pressure Tel Aviv until Benjamin Netanyahu’s country commits to "respecting international law, ending occupation and colonization."
Fast fashion and Nike are also in Camélia’s crosshairs. During the same intervention, she also indicated that she has been boycotting fast fashion and Nike since she "heard about the Uyghurs" - a Muslim minority that China is accused of repressing and exploiting. "(...) I no longer have a single fast fashion item at home. (...) I dream of buying a pair of Nike Jordans, but it’s out of the question. I was offered collaborations with brands that were linked to the Uyghurs, it was a lot of money (...) I declined," she assured in a recent TikTok video.
