The French Safran Group will build a large factory near Casablanca dedicated to Airbus A320 aircraft (280 million euros)
The French Safran Group is strengthening its presence in Morocco. An agreement was signed on Friday to build a factory for landing gear destined for Airbus A320 aircraft. This 280 million euro investment will create 500 jobs near Casablanca.
Located in the Midparc industrial zone of Nouaceur, this future 7-hectare complex will operate exclusively on renewable energy. It is set to become one of Safran Landing Systems’ largest global centers. The factory will integrate high-precision activities, ranging from machining to advanced assembly, as well as testing and certification to meet the growing needs of civil aviation.
The agreement was formalized at the Royal Palace of Casablanca, under the presidency of King Mohammed VI and in the presence of Ross McInnes, Chairman of the Safran Board of Directors. According to Ryad Mezzour, Minister of Industry, this project consolidates the Kingdom’s integration into global value chains and allows it to master increasingly complex technologies, while respecting sustainability standards.
This new establishment is part of the sustained expansion of the aerospace group in the country. It follows a previous agreement concluded last October, worth 200 million euros, for the construction of an aircraft engine assembly plant.
