French athlete of Moroccan origin Azeddine Habz won the bronze medal, Friday, March 3, in the 1500m event at the European Indoor Championships in Istanbul, Turkey. A first for France.
Frenchman Azeddine Habz took third place in the 1500m event (in 3"35"’39) at the European Indoor Championships in Istanbul, Turkey. A first international medal on the track for the athlete of Moroccan origin, after podiums at the European Cross Country Championships in the mixed relay (2nd in 2021, 3rd in 2022). "It perfectly ends a very good indoor season. I had a very good race, I’m really super happy, with a super time not far from my personal best. I’m also really happy to bring the first medal to the European Championships, the first since 2013 with Mahiedine Mekhissi (in gold in the 1500m) for middle distance. I’m on cloud nine," he commented.
