Tuesday 21 January 2020, by
A police officer filed a complaint with the Rouen prosecutor’s office against his colleagues from the Administrative and Judicial Assistance Unit (UAAJ) for "racial insults", "incitement to hatred" and "defamation". In turn, the public prosecutor’s office seized the General Inspectorate of the National Police (IPGN) on Thursday, January 16.
After the reporting of the facts, the police hierarchy opened an administrative investigation, report several media. It all started with a discussion via the social network WhatsApp, between a dozen police officers from the Administrative and Judicial Assistance Unit (UAAJ). According to the facts, the plaintiff would have seen and read the messages on the cell phone of a colleague. This is how he would have realized that he was the center of the discussions.
"There’s no beating around the bush; these are racist and hateful remarks made towards this civil servant. But that’s not all. Other messages, just as hateful, just as racist, homophobic, xenophobic, concern the people these police officers are in charge of at the courthouse," said a judicial source to Paris Normandie.
In these WhatsApp conversations, denounces the same source, we find a whole litany of remarks that make you sick, they are so repugnant. There are pages and pages of them. Choice excerpts: "Arabo-negroid, a white woman who frequents a black man, is called a nigger whore (PAN): a black man will never do as good a job as a white man, nigger whore..."
"The civil servant who filed the complaint was assigned to another service, at his request. The others are, for the moment, still on duty, pending the outcome of this case," said divisional commissioner Éric Maudier, deputy departmental director of public security (DDSP) of Seine-Maritime.
