French Muslim Council Urges Support for Palestinians Amid Middle East Violence

Faced with the escalation of violence in the Middle East, the French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM) expressed its solidarity with the Palestinian people on Wednesday, through a press release, calling on the entire Muslim community in France, mosques and families, to a general mobilization.
"This tragic situation on all levels reminds us once again of the suffering endured by the Palestinian populations for decades," laments the organization, which calls on all forces devoted to peace and justice to do everything possible to obtain an immediate ceasefire and to build a just and lasting peace in this region of the world.
"The international community must help the parties to find an urgent solution to end the occupation and its humiliations to allow everyone to live in peace and dignity," the CFCM also pleaded, calling on Muslims in France, especially imams and mosque leaders, to devote the sermon this Friday to making the faithful aware of the place of the Al-Aqsa Mosque, "the third holiest site in Islam and the city of Alqods (Jerusalem) in the Muslim religion."
As actions to be implemented, the religious organization invites the organization of fundraising for humanitarian NGOs working in the Palestinian territories as well as a broad sponsorship campaign between mosques in France and Palestinian mosques to provide them with assistance.
In addition to prayers and invocations for the rest of the victims and the end of the clashes and lasting stability, the CFCM office also proposes a broad sponsorship campaign between families in France and Palestinian families to provide aid and support, especially to children.
Indeed, the Israeli raids in the Gaza Strip have resulted in at least 219 Palestinian victims, including 63 children. Rocket fire from Gaza has killed 11 Israelis, including one child. These clashes have also resulted in hundreds of serious injuries and the destruction of homes and infrastructure estimated at hundreds of millions of euros.
