French Muslim Council Sets Ramadan Zakat Al Fitr at 9 Euros for 2024

The French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM) has just announced the start date of Ramadan in France, which begins on March 10, 2024. It has also given the amount of the Zakat Al Fitr that Muslims in France will have to pay.
What is Zakat El Fitr?
It is a mandatory alms for each Muslim family, set this year at 9 euros per person. Its objective is to purify the Ramadan fast and to help the most needy.
Who can benefit from it?
All the poor, regardless of religion, can receive Zakat El Fitr. It is preferable to give it to the needy people in your place of residence, but it can also be sent elsewhere if necessary.
When to pay it?
The payment of Zakat El Fitr can be made from the first day of Ramadan, but it is generally made at the end of the month.
Who can distribute it?
You can distribute it yourself or entrust it to a trusted person or charitable organization.
What is it used for?
Zakat El Fitr is intended solely for the poor. It cannot be used to finance other projects, such as the construction of a mosque.
