French Muslim Council Issues Coronavirus Prevention Guidelines for Mosques

The French Council of the Muslim Faith (CFCM) informed, on Sunday, the imams and officials of mosques in France on the urgent measures to be taken to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus.

"Faced with the urgency of the hour, the president of the CFCM, Mohammed Moussaoui, recalled "some simple but useful advice", including "avoiding shaking hands and favoring oral and distant greetings".

The president of the CFCM also asked to "frequently" wash his hands, as well as to "remove from the ablution places of the mosques the towels for multiple use" to "replace them with disposable towels".

For the faithful "who present symptoms of an infection, who sneeze or cough, have breathing difficulties or a high temperature or have recently come from abroad, the CFCM has asked them to go see a doctor and stay home to pray to avoid spreading infections."
