French Mother Stranded in Morocco Pleads for Repatriation Amid Travel Restrictions

While she had traveled to Casablanca on March 11 to visit her elderly father, Nadia Kamal, director of the innovation department at Harmonie mutuelle, has been stuck there since March 16, far from her two children. She is calling for help for her repatriation.

I also sent emails to the ambassador to Morocco, the consul and the vice-consul of Casablanca," Nadia Kamal told the newspaper Le Progrès. She claims to have also sent correspondence to the deputy of the Rhône, Hubert Julien Laferrière. According to her, he replied by asking her for "additional elements", but she says she has "received no response to date".
On Saturday, this woman who is French through her mother and Moroccan through her father, addresses journalists, as well as the mayor of Lyon, Gérard Collomb, in a last tweet. Nadia Kamal has a hard time understanding "the inaction of the French consular services in Morocco towards her situation. I have two children aged 12 and 16 in Lyon and the youngest was hospitalized at the end of April." Her wish, she will say, is to return to Lyon. "[...] I miss my children and they miss me a lot. It’s been 2 months..."
