French-Moroccan Deputy Honors Berber Singer with Amazigh Speech in Parliament

The deputy of the Agir ensemble group, M’jid El Guerrab delivered a speech in Berber before his parliamentary colleagues. The Franco-Moroccan parliamentarian paid tribute to the Moroccan singer Mohamed Rouicha, quoting some of his lyrics.

"Inas, Inas, mayrikh addass ikh izmane. Ouna our youfine maradiche y ouna ditmoune," the deputy launched at the beginning of his speech in honor of this great Berber singer from the Atlas, a specialist in the ouatar musical instrument. These few words are excerpts from a song by the Moroccan artist that "mean brotherhood and above all mutual aid on a common path."

On his Facebook account, the deputy justified himself by specifying that this quote, full of meaning, represented a form of tribute he wanted to pay him in the hemicycle, having had the privilege of meeting him before his disappearance. "Inas, inas...", he added.

A few days ago in the French Parliament, the deputy paid tribute to his mother who wears the veil for cultural reasons during the debates on the "separatism" bill.
