French Diplomat Arrested in Plot to Attack Muslims, Linked to Far-Right Group

The domestic intelligence services of the Directorate General of Internal Security (DGSI) have arrested a diplomat posted to the French Embassy in El Salvador. He is suspected of belonging to an ultra-right cell that was planning attacks against Muslims in France.
The man arrested in France by the domestic intelligence services would be an active member of the ultra-right group "Actions des Forces opérationnelles" (AFO), according to AFP.
Thirteen of the alleged members of this terrorist cell had already been indicted in 2018 for "criminal terrorist conspiracy". The members of this group had the objective of fighting "against the Islamist peril" and had discussed plans to attack Muslims.
