French Air Traffic Strike Threatens Morocco-France Flights Amid Pension Reform Protests

Many flights between Morocco and France could be canceled next week due to a nationwide strike. Protests against the pension reform and the postponement of the legal retirement age to 64 continue in France.
In a statement, the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGAC) has called on airlines to cancel 20% of their flights at Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle airport and 30% of their flights at the airports of Paris-Orly, Beauvais, Bordeaux, Lille, Lyon, Nantes, Marseille, Montpellier, Nice and Toulouse following a national strike notice. This strike is scheduled for March 7 against the pension reform.
While the DGAC is calling for the implementation of a minimum service and a preventive reduction of traffic, it anticipates "disruptions and delays." After having requested similar cancellations from the airlines, many and significant disruptions had been recorded during the mobilization of February 16. The administration also invites passengers who can "to postpone their trip and to inquire with their airline to know the status of their flight."
