Franco-Moroccan Candidate Wins Goussainville Mayoral Election in Tight Race

Abdelaziz Hamida emerged victorious in the second round of the municipal elections in Goussainville against the outgoing mayor (Dvg) Alain Louis.
With 38.58% of the votes obtained in the second round of the municipal elections in Goussainville (Val-d’Oise) on Sunday, June 28, 2020, Abdelaziz Hamida is the new mayor of the city. The Franco-Moroccan managed to defeat two former officials of the municipality, Alain Louis (32.85%), mayor of the municipality from 2008 to 2014, and Elisabeth Hermanville (28.56%), mayor of the municipality from 1983 to 1995 and from 2001 to 2005.
"Today, we need to change course. Bring Goussainville into the 21st century," Abdelaziz Hamida had hammered when he was the first declared candidate in Goussainville for the 2020 municipal elections. His six priorities are: land use planning, cleanliness, road repair, opening up the city, education and employment.
