Franco-Algerian Activist Questioned by Moroccan Police Over Social Media Posts

Rachid Nekkaz, a Franco-Algerian citizen and former candidate in the Algerian presidential election, was questioned by the Marrakech police on Monday evening.
Recently arrived in the city, Mr. Nekkaz was reported following his posts on his social networks, including his YouTube channel. According to the same source, these publications undermined the territorial unity of Morocco and disseminated "untruths" about the history of the country.
The authorities in Marrakech therefore summoned Rachid Nekkaz to question him about the content of these publications.
After the hearing, and after consulting the competent prosecutor’s office, Mr. Nekkaz was released. The source from Rue20 did not provide any additional information on the content of the discussions or on any possible legal follow-up.
