Will France lose Ayyoub Bouaddi to Morocco?

FRMF President Fouzi Lekjaa and coach Mohamed Ouahbi traveled to Lille to convince prodigy Ayyoub Bouaddi to join the Atlas Lions before the March friendly matches.

The two Moroccan officials attended the match between LOSC and Aston Villa (0-1) at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy on Thursday, March 12. Beyond the European spectacle, this trip aimed to advance the case of the young Lille midfielder. According to information from Radio Mars, "Bouaddi’s case has been a priority for President Lekjaa for two years."

As part of this seduction strategy, the delegation met with the player’s parents to present the national team’s sports project. This direct approach could bear fruit quickly: the talented Lille player is expected to be on the list for the next international gathering scheduled at the end of the month.

The Atlas Lions’ schedule is set to be busy with two major tests in Europe. Mohamed Ouahbi’s men will first face Ecuador on March 27 at the Riyadh Air Metropolitano stadium in Madrid, before traveling to Lens on March 31 to challenge Paraguay at the Bollaert-Delelis stadium.

These matches serve as intensive preparation for the 2026 World Cup. Placed in Group C, the Moroccan national team will begin its global adventure with a clash against Brazil on June 13 in New Jersey, before crossing swords with Scotland and Haiti in an attempt to reach the final stages.
