France on High Alert: Over 8,100 Individuals Monitored for Radicalization Amid Elevated Terror Threat

The French Minister of the Interior, Gérald Darmanin, visited the headquarters of the General Directorate of Internal Security (DGSI) on Monday, where he stated that "the terrorist threat remains extremely high on the territory".
During this visit, the minister announced that 8,132 people are currently registered in the file of reports for the prevention of radicalization with a terrorist character (FSPRT).
According to him, the terrorist threat remained extremely high on the territory. The "terrorist risk of Sunni origin remained the main threat facing our country," Darmanin specified.
He also announced that the staff of the DGSI will be reinforced by 1,200 agents "by the end of the term" in order to face this threat.
