France to Expel 231 Radicalized Foreign Nationals Following Teacher’s Murder

In the coming days, 231 foreigners in an irregular situation and on the list for radicalization with a terrorist character will be expelled from France. A decision by Gérald Darmanin, Minister of the Interior, which comes two days after the assassination of Samuel Paty, a history teacher beheaded in the Yvelines.
The Minister of the Interior had already announced, during his monthly presentation of crime figures on October 13, 231 foreigners in an irregular situation and on the list for radicalization in France, who need to be expelled. Among these foreigners, 180 are currently in prison and 51 at large and will be arrested in the next few hours, according to information from Europe 1, confirmed by Franceinfo. In addition, 851 illegal immigrants are registered in the file of alerts for the prevention of radicalization with a terrorist character. "More than 20,000 files for radicalization, of which a little more than 8,000, are still active," said the coordinator of intelligence and the fight against terrorism on Sunday on Franceinfo.
The Minister of the Interior’s visit to Morocco last week, despite the health situation, was mainly driven by this reason. Discuss the problem of unaccompanied minors and ask Rabat to recover nine of its radicalized nationals in an irregular situation, Europe 1 specified. He will also do the same exercise on Sunday and Monday in Algeria, then the following week in Tunisia. He will be accompanied on each visit by the head of the DGSI and will present a list of Islamists that France wants to deport.
According to figures from the Ministry of the Interior, 851 illegal immigrants are registered in the file of alerts for the prevention of radicalization with a terrorist character.
