Four Arrested in $16,000 Currency Exchange Heist in Tetouan, Morocco

Four people, including a woman, were arrested by the judicial police elements of Tetouan. They would be involved in a case of fraud and theft reported by a currency exchange office in Tetouan.
In a press release, the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN) indicated that the four individuals are between 19 and 46 years old. The facts they are accused of took place last Monday when two of the accused had gone to an agency for a currency exchange operation. According to the plaintiffs, they used tactics to steal the sum of 15,000 euros before fleeing in a civilian car.
Alerted, the judicial police of Tetouan quickly opened an investigation in order to arrest them. Part of the loot was recovered, the rest was found a little later at an accomplice’s. A 4th suspect who would have changed the license plates of the car used and who made purchases with the stolen money is also being prosecuted.
Three of the alleged thieves are in custody, while the sole woman in the gang is under judicial investigation. They must all be presented, in the coming days, to the general prosecutor’s office.
