H&M Foundation Donates $250,000 for Morocco Earthquake Relief Efforts

Touched by the powerful earthquake that shook Morocco and killed nearly 3,000 people and caused enormous damage, the H&M Foundation is showing its generosity towards the victims.
$250,000 US. This is the amount of the donation made by the H&M Foundation through the Moroccan Red Crescent and Red Cross to help the victims of the devastating earthquake. This donation will be used to provide emergency assistance and repair the enormous damage caused by the violent earthquake of September 8. "Our thoughts go out to those affected by this terrible disaster. At the H&M Foundation, we wanted to show our support and solidarity with the Moroccan people with this donation, which will support the aid efforts of the Moroccan Red Crescent and Red Cross," said Karl-Johan Persson, member of the Foundation’s board of directors.
Supported by the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) as well as partner national societies such as the Swedish Red Cross, the Moroccan Red Crescent is assisting 500,000 people on the ground. These emergency efforts include integrated assistance such as in-kind relief items (food, household items), programs and shelters, access to drinking water, sanitation and hygiene (WaSH), health as well as emergency health care and medical assistance, including mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS). This voluntary relief association is also working to restore family links and community protection activities for unaccompanied and separated children, as well as for other people with special needs.
