Former Moroccan Minister’s Son Jailed in Medical Equipment Fraud Case

The son of a famous lawyer and former minister has been detained in the Oukacha prison, by the investigating judge at the Casablanca correctional court for trafficking in paramedical equipment.
The defendant was first questioned before responding later, as part of a detailed interrogation, to charges of fraud and participation in the production and marketing of defective products, reports Hespress.
In this case of "sale of defective and dangerous masks", nine other people are also implicated. As for the tenth person involved, he is being prosecuted while at liberty.
A few days ago, the judicial police had dismantled a criminal network with ramifications in Casablanca, Marrakech, Témara, Rabat and Kénitra, which was selling defective masks with no protective capacity.
Worse, these masks, which contribute much more to the spread of contagion, were marketed in the medical environment to healthcare workers operating on the front lines of the fight against the coronavirus pandemic in the kingdom.
