Former Moroccan Military Pilot Accused of Betrayal After 25 Years in Polisario Captivity

The behavior of a former pilot of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), who spent 25 years in the Polisario prisons, is more akin to betrayal. He is said to be showing ingratitude towards an institution that continues to support him, by making contact with hostile organizations.
According to Le360, citing a source within the army, Ali Athmane "continues to exploit the demands of former detainees of the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), in the Algerian and Polisario prisons, for mercantile and malicious purposes."
By allying himself with organizations known for their hostility to Morocco and by participating in their demonstrations and sit-ins, Ali Athmane is joining the devil to defend a noble cause, but in reality, this hides other interests. By thus defending entities that continue to attack the national cause, he is showing treason towards his homeland and the military institution, it is indicated.
The same source specifies that the former soldier "continues to denigrate, in all directions, the system and to spread erroneous messages to harm the military institution of his country. A monstrous ingratitude towards those who have helped him and his family throughout the period of his imprisonment."
With regret, the source lists the privileges and contributions that the former Royal Air Force pilot has benefited from. In addition to financial assistance worth 140,000 dirhams, granted by the Hassan II Foundation for Social Works, he "receives a salary equivalent to that of a retired Colonel, a military disability pension and a life annuity," it informs, before adding: "He also has two apartments that were offered to him by the Military Housing and Equipment Agency at a preferential price, and a taxi license."
