Former Moroccan PM Benkirane Criticizes PJD Members Over Israel Stance

After the deputy Al Mouqrie El Idrissi Abouzaid, the former president of the Party of Justice and Development (PJD) Abdelilah Benkirane criticized Aziz Rabbah for declaring that he would go to Israel if his position required it. The former Prime Minister also spoke about the warming of relations between Morocco and Israel and called for "not blaming El Othmani" on the subject.
During his live intervention on Facebook as part of the ceremony of exchanges with the national office of the National Union of Labor in Morocco (UNMT), the former Head of Government attacked certain members of the party, reports Al Massae. According to Benkirane, the greatest wish of the party’s activists was to work in the cabinet of former Prime Minister Driss Jettou. "But thanks to their commitment and respect for the principles of the party, they were able to access high positions and lead super-ministries," he specified.
For the former party leader, some (members of the party) who did not even dream of a mission in Jettou’s minister’s office are now appointed ministers of the government. While alluding to Minister Rabbah, he reminded these activists that they have accessed important positions with their principles and convictions and not with Israel. The former party official stressed the importance of being faithful to one’s principles and opposing submissions.
He also called on party members to support King Mohammed VI for the national cause while exonerating El Othmani on the warming of relations with Israel. "We have been behind King Mohammed VI on the national cause. We defend our homeland as we defend the Palestinians. We must not blame Saad-Eddine El Othmani who signed the tripartite declaration."
