Former Moroccan Anti-Terror Chief Abdelhak Khiame Dies at 64

Sad news this Tuesday, August 23, 2022. The former head of the Central Bureau of Judicial Investigation (BCIJ), Abdelhak Khiyame, died today from a long illness.
The one who had been appointed head of the Moroccan FBI since its creation died today. He had been suffering from a long illness.
At the age of 64, Abdelhak Khiame had left the BCIJ in November 2020 after 5 years of service. He had been replaced in this position by his deputy, Haboub Cherkaoui.
After his departure, he had held the position of mission officer for the Director of the Directorate General of Territorial Surveillance (DGST).
Abdelhak Khiame was responsible for reporting to the press, whether Moroccan or foreign, on the dismantling of terrorist cells until his departure.
He was highly appreciated in Morocco but also abroad.
