Former Mauritanian President’s Wife Robbed of $270,000 in Moroccan Resort Town

Seven people were arrested in Bouznika for their alleged involvement in the theft of a large sum of money. Organized as a criminal gang, these individuals managed to steal 2.7 million dirhams from the wife of the former Mauritanian president, Mohamed Ouled Abdelaziz.
It is the brigade of the royal gendarmerie of Bouznika that dismantled this criminal network which had emptied all the contents of the car of the wife of the former Mauritanian president, Mohamed Ouled Abdelaziz. It discovered her car, parked in her summer residence in Bouznika, completely ransacked and burgled, reports the daily Assabah which stresses that the 2.7 million dirhams were in the trunk of the vehicle.
Alerted by the victim, the elements of the royal gendarmerie brigade of Bouznika carried out the usual findings and opened an investigation which put them on the trail of the seven people arrested on Wednesday. They were brought before the competent prosecutor’s office for criminal conspiracy and aggravated theft.
The suspects were arrested thanks to the images from the cameras installed at the neighbors’ and which led the gendarmes on the trail of a repeat offender. He did not hesitate to give the names of the rest of the gang. The seven suspects are awaiting their trial which will start in the coming days.
