Former IMF Chief Strauss-Kahn Considered for Moroccan Finance Minister Role

The name of Dominique Strauss-Kahn (DSK) had been mentioned in the entourage of King Mohammed VI to replace Mohamed Boussaid, Finance Minister dismissed by the sovereign on August 1, 2018.
DSK seemed the right man to replace Mohamed Boussaid, this senior official with long ministerial experience, as the challenges at the time were numerous. It was necessary to renegotiate with the donors and undertake the tax reform necessary for the modernization of the country.
Contacted, the former Managing Director of the International Monetary Fund (IMF) was interested in the proposal and even willing to close his consulting firm based in Casablanca (Parnasse International) which was making him a lot of money, reports Forbes.
But in the end, the project did not materialize due to opposition to DSK’s entry into the Moroccan government, involved in several sex scandals, and the fact that he did not have a Moroccan passport.
