Former Digital Secretary Mahjoubi Exits Paris Mayoral Race, Backs Villani

Just days before the big oral presentation before the Investment Commission, in the context of the municipal elections in Paris, Mounir Mahjoubi, former Secretary of State for Digital Affairs, withdrew his candidacy on Wednesday in favor of Deputy Cédric Villani.
The former Digital Secretary is no longer a candidate in the Paris municipal elections. He has withdrawn his candidacy and is supporting Deputy Villani. In an interview with Le Parisien, Mahjoubi explained this choice, which, according to him, is justified by the same values carried by the Deputy. According to the former Secretary of State for Digital Affairs, there is no question of getting mixed up.
Deputy Villani thanked his new partner for his support. On Twitter, he also recalled the common values and vision carried by him and the Minister, which take into account an "eco-progressive, humanist and solidary" project. For Deputy Villani, they are joining forces on this project for the "renewal" of the French capital city.
This observation is also made by his opponent, Benjamin Griveaux, former Government Spokesperson, and adversary of Deputy Villani. According to the polls, Villani and Griveaux are the favorites for the first round, with 25%, far exceeding the list of the current Mayor of Paris, Anne Hidalgo, who is losing more and more confidence among her constituents.
The candidacy files are expected on Tuesday, July 9, at the National Investment Commission (CNI) of La République en Marche, for a big oral presentation before the publication of the results, scheduled for Wednesday, July 10.
