Food Poisoning Suspected at Moroccan Restaurant in Saint-Quentin, France

While members of a group were eating in a Moroccan restaurant in Saint-Quentin before their vacation, some were taken with nausea and vomiting. Is this malaise related to food poisoning?
The events took place on Friday on Raspail Street in Saint-Quentin in the Aisne. While a group of men and women from Essigny-le-Petit were eating in a Moroccan restaurant in the city, about half of them were taken with nausea and vomiting. "One person started vomiting, then a second and a third," recounts a victim to L’Aisne nouvelle. "We called firefighters who were passing by at the time." The firefighters arrived around 3:30 p.m. They mobilized 14 vehicles to take care of 21 people, including a 62-year-old woman. All were taken to the Saint-Quentin hospital center. The sexagenarian was admitted to the emergency department.
Azhar Brahim, the restaurant owner, expresses his surprise: "There were customers in the group who had a tajine and not a couscous, they are also sick. I also called other customers who were not part of the group and they had nothing." According to the firefighters, the rescued people would be victims of food poisoning. "Gas and carbon monoxide measurements within the establishment were negative, but a medical examination performed on the woman in absolute emergency confirms food poisoning concerning her," reports franceinfo.
