Flying to Morocco on Thursday? RER B strike could disrupt your trip before you reach Roissy

Travellers flying from Roissy to Morocco on Thursday, November 5, should allow extra time to get to the airport. The national strike will halve RER B service on the branch serving Paris-Charles-de-Gaulle.

For passengers planning to reach Roissy by train, Thursday is shaping up to be difficult. According to the official RER B forecast, one in every two trains will run between Gare du Nord and the Aéroport Charles-de-Gaulle 2 and Mitry-Claye termini. The reduced service will force travellers to adjust their departure time to arrive in time for check-in.

Service will also be disrupted south of Paris, with two in every three trains running between Gare du Nord and the Robinson and Saint-Rémy-lès-Chevreuse branches. The interconnection will remain in place: passengers coming from the south will be able to continue to Roissy without changing trains at Gare du Nord.

The industrial action also affects the aviation sector. Several civil aviation and ground staff unions have called a strike, raising the risk of disruption at airports. Previous strikes that threatened flights between France and Morocco had already prompted airlines to monitor their schedules. For Thursday, the Directorate General for Civil Aviation told TourMaG on Wednesday that it had not requested any precautionary flight reductions.

Travellers will face another difficulty in the evening. From 10:45 p.m., engineering work will halt RER B service between Châtelet-Les Halles and the Roissy and Mitry-Claye branches. Replacement buses planned for the work will remain in service.

Travellers heading to Morocco should therefore check two schedules before setting off: their flight schedule with the airline and the RER B timetable in transport apps. With only one in every two trains running to Roissy, the usual buffer for getting to the airport may not be enough.
