Flash Flood in Morocco’s Midelt Region Nearly Claims Life of Local Official

The storm that hit the city of Midelt could have swept away the president of the municipality of Anemzi if he had not separated from his car in time.
He narrowly escaped death. According to Mohamed Oserghine, deputy national coordinator of the Civil Coalition for the Mountain, the president of the municipality of Anemzi would have taken his service car to go to Midelt where he was to participate in a religious ceremony, reports Hesspress.
He was far from imagining the situation he would face. He was surprised, along with his friends, by the rapid rise of the waters, in the region. Immediately, they abandoned the vehicle before the river swept it away.
Reached by phone, Mohamed Oserghine told Hespress that a child had died in the region, under similar circumstances.
He was short of breath and there was practically no access road to take him to the Midelt Regional Hospital, as the road remained cut off for hours. The child lost his life. This death provoked the indignation of the citizens of the region. They demanded the acceleration of the construction of a bridge at this black spot.
