Five Arrested in Oujda for Visa Fraud and Human Smuggling Ring

After being placed in custody, five individuals, aged between 32 and 60, were referred to the prosecutor for their alleged involvement in a case of forgery and use of forgery, in the organization of illegal immigration operations. The prefectural service of the judicial police of Oujda was behind the operation.
The preliminary investigation indicates that two suspects are involved in the falsification of personal and administrative documents required to constitute visa application files for several European countries, indicates a press release from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN). According to the same source, two other defendants served as intermediaries for candidates wishing to obtain these forged documents. A fifth suspect will be apprehended as he was about to constitute a visa application file based on false documents.
The judicial police services, in coordination with their counterparts from the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance, conducted the investigations, which led to the arrest of two suspects at the entrance to the city of Salé. The three others will be arrested in Oujda. Similarly, the security forces proceeded to seize a large number of forged documents and identity cards belonging to other people during the searches carried out at the homes of the defendants and the search of one of their cars.
