Financial scandal in Khouribga, high-ranking officials involved

The investigation into the embezzlement of more than 50 million dirhams by the director of a bank branch in Khouribga reveals the involvement of several other individuals, including notables. They were arrested for money laundering, forgery and use of forgeries, as well as false declarations.
While the bank branch director accused of embezzling more than 50 million dirhams is still on the run and is the subject of a wanted notice, other heads are falling. According to reports drawn up by the National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ) and submitted to the Attorney General at the Casablanca Court of Appeal, about ten people, including notables from Khouribga, have been arrested, reports the daily Assabah. They are accused of having received several transfers from bank accounts embezzled by the branch manager and of having laundered this money by investing in several lucrative projects, some of which in the real estate sector. These people should be prosecuted for money laundering, forgery and use of forgeries, as well as false declarations.
These arrests are the result of an investigation by the National Brigade of the Judicial Police (BNPJ) conducted over nearly a year. During their interrogations, the accused tried to justify the amounts received and the expenses, but they were confounded by the existence of a prior agreement between the branch manager and them. For now, the main accused is still actively being sought by investigators. He would still be on Moroccan territory.
