Financial Director of Bab Darna Group Jailed in Major Moroccan Real Estate Fraud Case

The Bab Darna case has not finished revealing all its secrets. Amina Achkoun, the group’s financial director, was before the public prosecutor near the Aïn Sebaâ correctional court on Tuesday to answer for her involvement or not in this major real estate scam.
The prosecutor is convinced that Amina Achkoun is an essential link in the Bab Darna case. That’s why he decided to entrust the file to the investigating judge in order to investigate further. The CFO would have lost consciousness upon learning the prosecutor’s decision. Once her condition was stabilized at the Mohammed V hospital in Hay Mohammadi, she was taken to the Oukacha prison to spend her first night there, reports Le360.
In addition to the arrest of Amina Achkoun, it should be noted the appearance of the "exclusive" notary of Bab Darna’s fictitious projects, Mohammed Mawhoub. He is accused of fraud and will also be questioned by the investigating judge, as was the CEO of the group, Mohammed El Ouardi, before ending up behind bars.
As for the general manager of the group, he is actively being sought by the police. Three other employees, namely the commercial director, the accountant, and a salesman, are also being prosecuted under arrest, the same source recalls.
The Bab Darna case involves around twelve fictitious real estate projects, all standards combined, which have been marketed over the past two years. More than 1,200 people have been scammed out of 400 million dirhams.
