Finale of the CAN in Morocco: Nora Fatehi’s incendiary tackle against the Senegalese team
Moroccan-born actress and dancer Nora Fatehi has strongly criticized the attitude of the Senegalese national team during the final of the Africa Cup of Nations played on January 19 in Rabat. Present at the Prince Moulay Abdellah stadium to support the Atlas Lions, she denounced the chaos caused by the temporary withdrawal of the Senegalese players from the pitch in protest against a refereeing decision.
In a post published on her Instagram account, Nora Fatehi condemned the reaction of the Senegalese camp following the penalty awarded to Morocco in the 114th minute of play. She described this behavior as "one of the most unethical, disappointing and diabolical behaviors!" For the artist, this incident paradoxically served to reveal the posture of the Moroccan selection, adding that "it taught us that, whatever the circumstances, Morocco keeps class, prestige and an exemplary attitude!"
Despite the final defeat of her favorite team by a score of 1-0, Nora Fatehi expressed her satisfaction with the organization of the tournament and the quality of the national infrastructure. She declared: "I applaud the progress, the elevation and the hospitality of the country and its people! This experience has shown us that Morocco is growing rapidly and will remain the first country in Africa!" Saluting the patriotism of the supporters, she emphasized that for Moroccans, "it’s more than just football", while sending a message of encouragement to the players and the coach: "A big congratulations to our coach and the players for showing dignity and pride! You made us proud! Dima Maghrib!"
