Final verdict of the CAF: Morocco declared winner of CAN 2025 by default!

Convened to re-examine the case, the organization found the appeal of the Moroccan federation admissible and well-founded, thus cancelling the initial disciplinary decision. It concluded that the attitude of the Senegalese selection directly violated the official regulations of the competition.

In strict application of the current texts, this violation resulted in the immediate loss of the match. The other requests were rejected, sealing the official triumph of the Moroccan selection with a clear score.

The commission also ruled on the case of Ismaël Saibari. While the player is indeed found guilty of misconduct, his $100,000 fine is completely cancelled and his sentence is reduced to a two-match suspension, one of which is suspended.

The body also granted significant financial relief to the Moroccan federation. The fines concerning responsibility for the ball boy incident and the use of lasers have been reduced to $50,000 and $10,000 respectively.

The jury, however, remained completely inflexible regarding the reported interference around the video review area. This specific part of the appeal was rejected, firmly maintaining the initial monetary penalty set at $100,000.
