FIFA Pledges $8 Million Aid to Moroccan Football Amid COVID-19 Crisis

FIFA has promised to grant an 8 million euro subsidy to Morocco to help federations survive the current crisis that has led to the suspension of sports competitions.
The international body has opened its checkbook to relieve Moroccan clubs, suffocated by the covid-19 health crisis, since the halt of football.
According to the daily Assabah, FIFA has set up a fund to manage this crisis in football. This amount, estimated at 8 million euros, should go to the Royal Moroccan Football Federation (FRMF), which will be responsible for transferring it to the clubs concerned. This amount should be added to the expected subsidy for the 2019-2022 seasons.
During a videoconference meeting, organized by FIFA with the North African federations, a review was made and crisis exit solutions were considered.
At the end of the meeting, FIFA proposed that each federation decide on the date of resumption of local championships based on their own scientific and health data.
