Fez Water Authority Chief Sentenced to One Year for Corruption

Prosecuted in custody since October 2021, for corruption, the general manager of the autonomous water and electricity authority of Fez (RADEEF), El Hanafi Aboukir, was finally sentenced to one year in prison, with a fine of 20,000 DH.
The general manager had been caught red-handed while receiving a "20,000 DH envelope" from the hands of a contractor.
Reported via the green number, he was entrusted to justice, prosecuted for "corruption", "influence peddling" and "taking an interest in a project he administers". The Fez court only retained the first charge.
On Tuesday, the criminal chamber of Fez delivered its verdict. The official was sentenced to one year in prison and a fine of 20,000 DH. The justice also ordered the seizure of all the sums recovered at his home during his arrest.
