Fez Tightens Travel Restrictions as Covid-19 Concerns Rise Ahead of Holidays

The city of Fez is taking precautions to shield itself from a surge in Covid-19 cases during the school holidays and Eid Al-Mawlid. The regional monitoring committee in charge of monitoring the epidemiological situation has just taken new preventive measures.
The committee, chaired by the Wali of the Fez-Meknes region, governor of the prefecture of Fez, has decided to "strengthen, starting this Thursday, the control measures at the security checkpoints in the prefecture of Fez". To enter or leave, one must have an exceptional authorization issued by the local authorities.
School holidays and the Eid Al-Mawlid celebration will lead to travel between cities and therefore a likely explosion of infection cases. That is why the Wali of the region in his press release indicated that citizens are required to strictly respect these measures, under penalty of facing sanctions.
