Fez Land Spoliation Trial Delayed Again: 16 Accused Face Multiple Charges

Another postponement of the trial in which 16 people are being prosecuted for their alleged involvement in a case of land spoliation in the commune of Ouled Tayeb, in the Fez region.
The 16 accused are being prosecuted for "constitution of a criminal gang specializing in the spoliation of Soulaliyate lands", "corruption", "fraud", "abuse of power", "violation of laws and regulations, particularly urban planning", "falsification of official documents and their use by public officials", among others.
They are divided into two groups, according to their degree of involvement in this "land mafia". One in detention and the other at liberty. But they will all answer on May 31 for the serious acts they are accused of. The judge decided to postpone the hearing to allow the defense to better prepare its pleadings.
The defense lawyers have also submitted a request for release for the deputy Rachid El Fayek who "holds positions of municipal responsibility", and who according to them, "presents all the guarantees of presence at the next hearing".
