Feasibility Study Launched for New Access Road to Morocco’s Ourika Tunnel

The Ourika tunnel could soon see its northern access facilitated. The Provincial Directorate of Equipment, Transport and Logistics has indeed announced the upcoming launch of a feasibility study for the creation of a new access road.
This study, which will last four months, will scrutinize all aspects of the project. From the road layout to the drainage systems, including the design of the intersections, nothing will be left to chance. The objective: to guarantee the safety and fluidity of traffic, while respecting the environment.
The project will take place in two stages. A preliminary phase will define the broad outlines and select the most promising options. This will be followed by a more detailed study, with precise technical specifications, reports Médias24.
If this study proves conclusive, the work could start quickly, thus opening up new prospects for the region.
