Father Faces Prison for Vigilante Attack on Daughter's Alleged Abuser in Roanne

The family father who lynched the alleged aggressor of his 6-year-old daughter along with his three friends expressed regret before the Roanne criminal court. He faces 18 months in prison.

"I won’t do it again, it’s unacceptable. I know we shouldn’t take justice into our own hands, but I let off steam. I freaked out. How can you think in those moments?", the family father said during the hearing. The Roanne prosecutor, Abdelkrim Grini, requested 18 months in prison, including 6 to 9 months with probation for 2 years against him, a sentence that can be arranged, reports BFMTV. He also requested 1 year including 6 months with probation and 2 years including 1 year with probation against two other defendants. The fourth defendant was acquitted, as the prosecutor was not sure of his involvement.

The events took place on the night of Thursday to Friday, October 21. The mother of the 6-year-old girl finds herself face to face with a 16-year-old adolescent coming out of her child’s room. She suspects him of having subjected her to indecent assault. The next day, the father and his three friends cross the path of the suspect at night, beating him with "kicks", "punches" and whipping him "with an electrical cable as he lay on the ground", before calling the police. The teenager "had a lacerated body. The doctors gave him 10 days of ITT," the Roanne prosecutor had said.
