Fatal Car Crash in Morocco Uncovers Major Drug Trafficking Operation

A traffic accident occurred on the coastal road connecting the cities of Safi and El Jadida. Two people died and another was seriously injured. The authorities found a large quantity of drugs in the wrecked car.
A man and a woman died on Monday, June 24, 2019, in a serious traffic accident, at the level of Oualidia. A person accompanying them was injured and had to be rushed to the hospital in El Jadida, according to the media Assabah, which does not give details about the causes of this accident.
However, the newspaper specifies that upon arrival at the scene, around 2:30 a.m., the gendarmes of Oualidia found, hidden in the car, a very large quantity of drugs, exactly 200 kilograms of cannabis and 100 kilograms of "tobacco". The car is registered abroad.
The Prosecutor of the King near the Court of First Instance of Sidi Bennour was alerted to the facts and ordered the opening of a judicial investigation into this accident, the identity of the victims and this drug trafficking. The interrogation of the injured victim of the accident is also planned, still according to Assabah.
