Fake account on X : the Comoros reacts to the dissemination of a tampered Moroccan flag
The image was designed to shock. A modified Moroccan flag, bearing a six-pointed star instead of the green pentagram, circulated on social media via an account usurping the identity of the Comoros Football Federation. The organization immediately reacted to condemn this provocation and defuse any diplomatic tension.
The Federation (FFC) described this publication as a malicious maneuver. According to the organization, the fraudulent use of its initials on the X platform was deliberately intended to sow confusion and weaken the historical ties between the Union of the Comoros and the Kingdom. Faced with this attack on national symbols, the Comorian authorities wanted to reaffirm their unwavering attachment to the friendship that binds the two peoples.
To counter this attempt at virtual division, the FFC opposed the reality of cooperation on the ground. Morocco has established itself as a central partner for Comorian football, hosting all of the national team’s international matches for the past three years, whether for World Cup qualifiers, the 2025 CAN or friendly matches. The organization assured its Moroccan counterpart of its full cooperation to dispel any misunderstanding and preserve this climate of trust.
