Experts Refute Climate Manipulation Claims After Devastating Morocco Floods

The heavy rains recorded last weekend in Morocco and which caused flooding in several regions and provinces of the kingdom, were not provoked, assured Moroccan experts.
These torrential rains accompanied by violent winds that hit several Moroccan regions from Friday to Sunday, as announced by the General Directorate of Meteorology (DGM) in its orange alert bulletin issued on Wednesday, are not due to cloud seeding, Moroccan experts have clarified.
"Since Friday, the southern and southeastern regions of the country as well as the Atlas regions have been under the strong influence of a very unstable tropical air mass, the product of the exceptional situation of the Intertropical Convergence Zone (ITCZ) in our southern regions," Houssein Youabed, communication manager at the DGM, explained to Hesspress.
These showers also hit the southeastern regions of the kingdom like Ouarzazate where "more than 47 mm of rain were recorded on Friday in less than three hours, and significant precipitation in 24 hours, from 6 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday," but also in Errachidia, Marrakech, Midelt and Nouaceur.
