Expert: Algeria’s "Hidden War" Against Morocco Escalates Amid Military Base Dispute

Commenting on the diplomatic rift between Algeria and Morocco over military bases, international expert on security and terrorism issues, Mohamed Benhammou, president of the Moroccan Center for Strategic Studies, says that "the Algerian regime is waging a hidden war targeting Moroccan interests".
"These perpetual attacks by Algeria against Moroccan interests reveal the aggressive behavior as usual of the Algerian regime towards Morocco. It is a characterized and schizophrenic behavior marked by aggression," said the Moroccan political scientist. For the international expert on security and terrorism issues, "Morocco has the right to establish military bases on its soil, and should not bow to any party" because it is "a sovereign country," writes Hespress.
According to Mohamed Benhammou, "the images broadcast by the FAR Forum clearly showed military bases along the border, including missile launchers, radars and equipment of an offensive rather than defensive nature."
And he concluded: "The time has come for the Algerian regime to get rid of these vile behaviors that have persisted for decades towards the kingdom. Algeria must act as a responsible state that cares about security and stability in the region. The Algerian regime must adopt a behavior aimed at accounting for its actions and being amenable to cooperation between the two countries".
