European Parliament Corruption Probe: Belgium Issues Arrest Warrants for Moroccan Officials

Trouble is looming for Moroccan officials cited in the corruption scandal rocking the European Parliament. They are the subject of arrest warrants issued by the Belgian justice system.
The Belgian investigation into the corruption scandal that is rocking the European Parliament is ongoing. The French authorities have received from the Belgian justice system arrest warrants issued against "several Moroccan officials", reports Le Figaro. "We are embarrassed. These people have children in France. We would not like to have to arrest them when they get off the plane if they come to see them. These are people we would not like to touch. It would look bad when Emmanuel Macron is due to make an official visit to Morocco soon," confides a diplomat.
Morocco is cited in the corruption scandal that is shaking the European Parliament. Mohamed Belareh, also known as "Belahrech" or "Belharace" and whose code name at the Directorate General of Studies and Documentation (DGED), Moroccan intelligence services, is "M118", would be the man behind the downfall of the former Italian MEP Antonio Panzeri, suspected of being the epicenter of the corruption scandal that has ravaged the European Parliament. This Moroccan spy agent was giving orders to the friend of the former elected official, the Moroccan ambassador to Poland, Abderrahim Atmoun, who was at the time president of the Moroccan-EU joint parliamentary committee, between 2011 and 2019. The name of the Moroccan Yassine Mansouri, head of the DGED, is also mentioned in this case.
