
Moroccan Dirham Weakens Against Euro, Strengthens vs Dollar in Late December
The Moroccan currency depreciated by 0.82% against the euro and appreciated by 0.51% against the dollar during the period from December 26 to 31, 2019.

According to the indicators published by Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM), from December 19 to 25, the dirham appreciated by 0.27% against the euro and depreciated by 0.29% against the dollar.

The dirham has shown good health during the period from December 12 to 18, 2019, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM) . The Moroccan currency appreciated by 0.36% against the dollar and depreciated by 0.11% against the euro.

The value of the dirham fell slightly by 0.29% against the euro and 0.21% against the dollar during the period from December 5 to 11, 2019, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).

The value of the dirham experienced a slight decline of 0.33% against the euro and 0.26% against the dollar during the period from November 28 to December 4, 2019, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM)

The value of the dirham remained almost stable against the euro and appreciated by 0.47% against the dollar during the period from November 14 to 20, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).

The Moroccan dirham appreciated by 0.45% against the dollar and depreciated by 0.25% against the euro, from November 7 to 13, according to the weekly indicators of Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).

The dirham appreciated by 0.11% against the dollar and remained almost stable against the euro during the period from October 31 to November 6, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM)’s weekly indicators.

The Moroccan dirham lost 0.20% against the euro and 0.76% against the US currency, in the period from October 24 to 30, according to the weekly indicators released by Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).

The dirham rose 0.39% against the dollar and stabilized against the euro during the period from October 3 to 9, according to Bank Al-Maghrib (BAM).

The Moroccan dirham appreciated by 0.39% against the euro and depreciated by 0.19% against the dollar during the period from September 26 to October 2. According to Bank Al Maghrib, the net international reserves stood at 233 billion dirhams (MMDH) as of September 27, almost stagnant from the previous week and up 3.7% year-on-year.

At the end of the first half of 2019, the outstanding public external debt increased by 11.2 billion dirhams and stood at 337.8 billion dirhams compared to the end of 2018, with a strong dominance of the euro, according to a statement from the Directorate of the Treasury and External Finance (DTFE).
