Equatorial Guinea Refutes Claims of Moroccan Police Brutality in Amputation Case

The Equatorial Guinean government has provided a formal denial regarding the information disseminated about the young man whose arms were allegedly amputated in Morocco.
The recent images of a young Equatorial Guinean national with both hands amputated, published on social media on Saturday, April 4, accompanied by a text accusing the Moroccan law enforcement officers of being the perpetrators of the acts, are completely false. These facts never occurred in Morocco, the Equatorial Guinean government has firmly stated. And as proof, there is no trace of any official statement on the platforms, either from students or residents, demanding accountability from the Moroccan government for these facts, informs the Press and Information Office of Equatorial Guinea.
The Embassy of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea in Morocco has called on the parents whose children are in training in Morocco to remain calm. It has assured that the Equatorial Guinean residents of the Kingdom of Morocco are all safe and that no positive case of COVID-19 has been detected in their ranks.
According to a statement from the Moroccan Ministry of the Interior, movements are limited to the strict necessary for Moroccan citizens since the appearance of the first case of coronavirus.
