UN Envoy Sets March Date for Western Sahara Talks in Switzerland

Morocco, the [Polisario], Algeria and Mauritania were invited yesterday by the Personal Envoy of the UN Secretary-General for the Sahara, Horst Köhler, for a new round table on March 21 and 22, 2019 in Switzerland.
A first round table had already taken place in Switzerland on December 5 and 6 and saw the participation of the four protagonists. The Moroccan delegation consisted, in addition to the Minister of Foreign Affairs Nasser Bourita, of Omar Hilale, Permanent Representative of the Kingdom of Morocco to the United Nations in New York, Sidi Hamdi Ould Errachid, President of the Laâyoune-Sakia El Hamra region, Ynja Khattat, President of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region and Fatima Adli, community actor and member of the Smara Municipal Council.
This round table follows UN Resolution 2440 calling on all parties to "work constructively with the Personal Envoy, in a spirit of compromise, throughout the duration of the process, so that it succeeds".
The content and issues addressed during this round table have not yet been disclosed by Horst Köhler.
