Emirates Flight Attendant Caught Smuggling Gold and Luxury Watches Worth Millions at Casablanca Airport

Customs services at Mohammed V Airport in Casablanca arrested a steward operating on a Casablanca-Dubai flight of Emirates airline, in possession of gold ingots weighing 12 kilograms and luxury watches worth 6 million dirhams.
According to the daily Assabah, the steward was arrested after a thorough search of his luggage by customs officers. The defendant was transporting 12 gold ingots weighing one kilogram each and luxury watches worth 6 million dirhams. As for the value of the gold, it could reach 9.6 million dirhams, it is specified.
The steward is suspected of belonging to an international illegal gold trafficking network and would not be acting for the first time, indicate sources close to the case to the daily, adding that members of this network would probably be active in Morocco, the United Arab Emirates and other countries. After his arrest, the defendant was brought before the judicial police who opened an investigation to shed light on this case.
