Elon Musk Plans African Tour, May Include Morocco Stop

The wealthy businessman Elon Musk will soon embark on an African tour that will take him to South Africa, his country of birth, to Kenya, and possibly to Morocco.
The South African billionaire Elon Musk is soon heading to Africa. South Africa will mark the first stage of this tour. After his homeland, he will go to Nairobi, Kenya, on June 13, where he will meet with developers and politicians, reports The Standard. Casablanca (Morocco) would be the last stop on this African tour.
In 2021, the American company STMicroelectronics, based in Bouskoura in the Casablanca region, had won a contract to manufacture and supply automotive parts to Elon Musk’s famous Tesla brand. Negotiations are underway for the deployment of the satellite internet provider Starlink, owned by the tech mogul.
After an initial contact between its owner Elon Musk and the Moroccan authorities in the summer of 2024, in-depth discussions took place, notably on the occasion of the Qatar-Africa Business Forum held in Marrakech in November 2024, with Lauren Dreyer, vice-president of Starlink, informed Africa Intelligence. The Middle East and North Africa hub of Starlink then continued the discussions.
