Elderly Moroccan Seamstress Rescued from Libya, Reunites with Family After Years

Hajja Zahra will finally be able to reunite with her family and loved ones in Marrakech, after years of loneliness and abandonment in Libya. She had gone to work as a seamstress, and had remained anonymous since she fell ill.
Significant efforts have been made by the Ministry in charge of Moroccans Residing Abroad, in coordination with the Directorate of Consular and Social Affairs within the Ministry and the Consul General in Tunisia, to find her family.
Born in 1945 in Marrakech, Hajja Zahra had worked for many years as a seamstress in Libya, before being welcomed into a Libyan Red Crescent center, following a serious illness, reports the Hespress website.
She had remained there, for years, alone, and without any contact with her family or acquaintances. The Ministry in charge of Moroccans Residing Abroad, which was alerted to her presence through the media, finally took charge of Hajja Zahra’s case until her return to her family in Morocco.
